New job

I keep forgetting to post a note about my husband getting a new job! He started two weeks ago at Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. It's an IT job managing new computer software that helps them manage the various construction projects they've got going at the various campuses. He's based in the chancellor's office, which is just two blocks from my office in downtown St. Paul.

So, we've been commuting to work together to save on gas and parking. So far it's working pretty well. It's different, though, being tied to a specific schedule. I used to come and go whenever I wanted -- sometimes coming in late or early or whatever suited me. Now we have a pretty rigid 8:30 to 5:30 schedule.

Other news: Jamey and his buddies got the dock and boat lift into the water up at the cabin this weekend despite frigid waters! Yeah, guys! That means that I don't have to get in the water. Yippee. This is probably the earliest -- and coldest -- we've ever put the dock in. If they didn't get it in this weekend, we would've been doing it on Memorial Day weekend. Jamey is going to be traveling the next two weekends to and from a training seminar in California for his new job.
