Ben's eye appointment

Ben had an eye appointment this morning to check his vision because of a concern about lazy eye and to check out his clogged tear duct. The good news was that the opthamologist didn't see any signs of lazy eye or other vision problems. The bad news is that her assessment of the tear duct is that it's probably not going to clear up on its own, so he will need minor outpatient surgery early next year. They like to do it between 12 and 15 months of age. Ben was a real trooper, as usual, being happy and calm the whole 2 hours we were there.

Other news....I accepted today an offer to teach a Database Reporting class at the University of Minnesota next semester. This will be in addition to my job at the paper, so it will mean extra hours away from the kids. But I think it's an important move for my career.

Here's where I found the kids when I got home tonight...crawling all over Dad!

And contrary to popular belief, my babies do cry occasionally. Thankfully "occasionally" is the key word there.

And here's Ben rifling through the toy box just before bed tonight. He's practically doing a plank! He's almost ready for yoga!
